DESKUNDIGENBERICHT

How an investigation works

The assignment and its safeguards are defined before the investigation starts. Complex building disputes may require a coordinated team of specialists.

1. Intake

We review the case, the parties, documents, questions and intended use of the report.

2. Independence and proposal

Potential conflicts of interest are checked. The proposal sets out scope, method, exclusions, fees and payment arrangements.

3. Planning and investigation

For complex cases, a lead expert coordinates building, materials and other specialists. Targeted opening or sampling requires prior agreement. Mediation can be arranged separately. Relevant parties are informed in line with the procedure.

4. Findings and report

The expert explains the observations, technical reasoning, uncertainties and conclusions. A review and any agreed response round follow before final delivery.
